The lesson here is there is really no turning back. Not if you want it done right. We have the engine out so you might as well change the leaking crank seal. Of course, that means taking out the shaft and inspecting the main bearings. We don’t have it all the way down yet but it looks like it was the right call. Timing chain guides, water pump and all hoses will be replaced as well. It’s quite the adventure.
