November 14, 2011 – One bid at opening price of $3,500 did not meet the reserve.
November 12, 2011 – It doesn’t appear that the value of this bike is at the starting bid of $3,500 since no one is currently bidding on the bike. 250cc’s have a way of not bringing bike money. But I like the look and the history.
“You are bidding on a 250cc ‘Works Replica’ CZ motocross – as restored by Robert Allen (Matchbox Vintage Racing & Restoration) – and featured in Vintage Motorcross & Dirt Bike Quarterly (Vol.No. 4, 1999> http://www.vmxmag.com.au/.)
I purchased this bike from Bob shortly after its restoration. It is in perfect running condition; however, with the exception of riding it up-and-down the street two-or-three times, has not been ridden off-road or otherwise.
This is truly a ‘museum’ piece right down to the NOS Barum tires and Roger DeCoster’s autograph on the gas tank, and as a collector’s item it deserves a good home; however, if you must it is ready-to-race in ARHMA or other vintage events!”
