“1958 Ford F-250 factory four wheel drive pickup, with a 6 1/2 foot fleetside bed. This is a generally solid truck, unusually powered with a Chevy 348 cu.in. V8,and factory four speed, with recent dual exhaust system. It runs well, the four wheel drive components all work, and it is truly unique. It would benefit greatly from new paint and cosmetic details. $5950.”
From what I understand after talking to the seller, this is the first year available with four wheel drive for the F-250. At least I think he said that. Or maybe he said it came out in ’59 and it was unusual to see it on the ’58. Either way the engine swap would hurt the collector value of it anyway. But I still find it particularly attractive in the flat olive green color. The four on the floor is just where I’d want it, the big wheels look good and at $5,950 you can’t beat the price per unique ratio. It probably would suck on the freeway.
Find it at Goldenrod Garage in Freeport, Maine.
