My first instinct is to rip on this car for bastardizing a 911 with a V8. Doesn’t this guy know the value of early 911s? How cheap do you have to be to do all that work to the body without considering the flat six engine? Keep the lid closed, it hurts my eyes!
But then the softer side of Sears prevails. The reality might be that the car was a roller before he bought it and saved it. Given the performance options vs. cost, a V8 is a really smart choice especially considering ongoing repair/maintenance. Maybe he was a body man and was able to paint work on the cheap. It looks pretty if you like that slammed wide body kit look with dubs. I don’t.
At $10K I’d give it a second look. At $20K, I’m not a buyer off of Kalamazoo’s Craigslist.

I actually bought the car already converted. All I did was get it running and clean it up. I’ve bought more than one of these conversions. The draw is to the kid who has always wanted a 911, but couldn’t afford the maintenance. Trust me, I know the value of early 911’s. If I could jump in my DeLorean and go back a few years I wouldn’t have practically given away my 2 69’s.

I hear you Marc. Thanks for writing. The way prices are going now, this car from August of 2014 looks like I bargain even with the V8.
