“2001 A8L. I am selling this car because I found a 2002 S8 to replace it. This A8L is reliable and I would trust it on any long trip. No leaks or abnormal noises. The trans shifts properly. Alignment is straight and steering is tight. 27 mpg average highway. 21 city/highway. All aluminum body will not rust. Garage kept. No dings or dents. 2 minor paint flaws on trunk lid. A/C is cold. Heated front + rear seats work properly. Heated steering wheel works properly. Factory Bose stereo is amazing. Fog lights work.Tires + brakes have about 40-50% to go. Lower corner of windshield is cracked. You cannot see the crack from inside the car. Headliner is loose in the back. Fog light trim pieces are missing.”
At 142,000 miles I’m sure this thing has got a lot life left in it. But given my sense of Audi quality, I wonder how much will break along the way and at what cost. Funny I never give a second thought to an 80’s Porsche 911 with that kinda mileage. Maybe I’m just not afraid of digging in and fixing those.
What I like about the A8 is the all aluminum body. This car would be a great family hauler in the bellows of a Michigan winter. It won’t rust, which is nice.
