The tank is officially off to B&B Radiator for the “renew” process. Meanwhile, I’m left prepping the area for its return scraping off 40+ year old spongy black goo. I’ll eventually repaint the area with satin black and lay down a new sponge surround to keep dirt and water from leaching back into the trunk area.
