Reasons in my mind why they call it a saint car:
- Tears of rust remind me of biblical characters
- You’d have to be a saint to not touch it for 31 years
- A saint will rescue this car and show it some love
Hagerty lists the fair value at $8200 so this asking isn’t far off for a California survivor.
Find it for sale on Chicago’s Craigslist with the following description.
“Barn find. California car until 1987 when it was put in storage in MN where it is today. I have not done anything to the car accept buy a bunch of parts for it (headlight, hoses, arm rests, badging etc.) 1966 with 81,xxx miles. Interior in good shape. Carpet faded. Seats have no tears. Really nice restoration candidate. Has some surface rust spots and a few minor dents and dings but an honest car. You can see in the photos that the metal is good under the surface rust where I sanded it down a bit. A bit of rust through the metal behind the back wheels. All chrome is there. Have not started it or even tried. It rolls easily and the tires still hold air perfectly.
079 paint code, black seats, red carpet Saint car.”
