“Up for sale is my 1994 Montero SR 4×4. This is the 3.5L DOHC 24v 6G74 engine, with the factory installed rear diff air lock. I am selling it due to the fact that I was laid off, and I need to recoup the money I have put into the truck to help fund an out of state relocation. It has ~127,000 miles. I was told by the previous owner’s mechanic that the timing belt, tensioner and water pump were done at 110,000 miles. I have checked the timing belt myself, and it is indeed fresh. I have replaced the battery, radiator, sunroof, headliner, shocks, brake pads, as well as flushed the transmission, differentials, and transfer case. Oil changed every 3000 miles. 4 new tires just fitted and aligned too. This is a strong running truck. Starts every time, and has been back and forth to Vermont several times since I have owned it, with no problems. I have been using it as my daily driver. Excellent in the snow/off road. Well equipped. It does need some love, but overall in great shape for a ’94. Very light surface rust on undercarriage only. No rot anywhere. Been very reliable. It comes with a full tank of premium 93oct gas. CT Emissions good until Feb 2014.”
As some of you may know, I own a ’95 Montero SR and drove it daily for over 50,000 miles to about the same 127,000 miles. They are fantastic trucks. If you need a reliable snow or tow vehicle, you can’t go wrong here especially with the maintenance completed.
It’s rated at 5,000 pounds which is about perfect for towing Porsches around. I’m still getting 18mpg on the highways at about 75mph and 14mpg when towing around 70-75mph.
Despite their deceptive full size appearance these trucks are quite narrow, before being bloated for fat Americans, making them super easy to park. Yet you can still stow a lot inside with a tall tail and fold up 2nd and 3rd row. Yes it seats seven too.
This one is on eBay for $2,500 Buy it Now or $500 reserved bid to start in Branford, CT.
