Jay Leno made me like these. Of course, I don’t have the money to yank the engine and drive train, slap a Corvette underneath thereby making it rear-wheel-drive.
“The early Toronado’s were built on their own separate assembly line. This Toronadao ‘GT’ is a low-production factory-modified performance version of the 1st generation Oldsmobile Toronado. Oldsmobile designated this model the “W-34”. This is the rarest Toronado. Complete car, not running. Has 455 motor w/forged crank (Mondello value $1,000 for this rare crank). Special factory-ordered paint color, “Aegean Aqua”, with white interior and top. The W-34 package included a more powerful motor, beefed-up transmission, dual exhausts, and special accent stripes around the wheel openings. The rear bumper is notched to allow the special chromed exhaust tips to protrude. This is the fastest full-size production automobile of 1970.”
